Adventures in Adoption

Allie and AnnaClaire will be staying with Aunt Gina and Uncle Daniel when we go to China for Brady. Tonight the girls are staying with them overnight for the first time so they can get used to it and feel comfortable sleeping over at their house. Before we dropped them off, we were talking with Allie about spending the night there. Since she knows she will be there when we travel for Brady her first question was 'Are you going to get Brady Daniel?' I told her 'not yet' and then she said, 'Because you are waiting for your LSA?' For those who are not familiar with the new WC process, they now send a letter out a few weeks before they send TA that families must sign and send back in. Many people refer to it as the LOA. I must be talking about it quite a bit if my newly turned 4 year old realizes we need it before we can get her brother! I am pretty sure I heard Jeff mumble something about OCD right after Allie asked her question. Hmmm.

Cutie Patootie

We have a new Chinese restaurant in town so when I picked up Allie from preschool today, the girls and I went to get take out. The Chinese lady taking our order looked at both girls and then asked if Allie was from China. I told her that she was and then she asked which province. I told her Allie was from Guangdong and that AnnaClaire was from Jiangxi. She looked at AnnaClaire and said 'Jiangxi' in surprised sort of tone. We get that a lot from Chinese people. We have had Chinese people tell us that AnnaClaire is not Chinese. I've never asked what they thought she might be, but maybe I should. Whatever it is, she looks beautiful to me.

LOL Picture of the Day

I caught AnnaClaire trying to put on one of Brady's shirts. I can't look at this picture without chuckling.

Row #4 Got The Big 'X'

Yeppers, today I marked off the last day of row 4 and made a big 'X' at the bottom of that row. That means we are at day 80. Honestly, I thought that we would have LOA at this point. I guess you just don't know what to expect with China adoption. My dear sweet friend Tonya is at day 99 and she STILL is waiting for her LOA. She's handling it better than I would be. If I get to day 99 and I am as sane as she is, it will be a miracle. She's my hero. I have seen TAs coming in today and that is great news for those families and their children. My friend Bonnie, whose precious Anna is at Shantou with Brady, should be getting her TA any time. I pray that it comes this afternoon and that she is soon on her way to her sweet girl.

Dear Lord, we trust in your perfect timing. Please look after our little ones while we wait.

Egg Drop Soup for the Soul

All I can say is WOW! You guys rock! Thank you so much for the comments and the private emails and calls. Most days I am upbeat but sometimes I do get a little down. Last night I was having a 'misty' moment missing my boy when I posted. You all rallied around and because of it, I am back to feeling better and ready to continue my wait with a good attitude. Now if I could just get you all to motivate me to clean my house...LOL

HUGE HUGS TO YOU ALL!

A Piece of the Moon

Jeff and Cameron finished up the playset tonight. They still need to put a piece of mesh on the playhouse window, but other than that it is done. While they were outside Allie looked up at the sky and said 'there's a piece of the moon up there'. I thought that was so precious. Brady may be on the other side of the world but he sees that same piece of moon when night falls in China. Most days I am fine with the wait and on the days when it is hard, the uncertainty of 'when' is what really gets to me. I know Brady is somewhere where he is loved and getting good nutrition so I don't really worry about him...but then there are times that I think that even one more day of waiting is too much for us to be apart. On one hand the time has gone by quite fast but on the other, I think of the little 12 month old baby that we first looked at and the 2 year old boy he will have become before we hold him on our arms. Tonight is one of those times when I really need him home. We miss you Brady.

Almost There

We are so close to having the swingset completed. Every one has pitched in and man is it hard work. Jeff and Cameron have worked the hardest and I am so proud of them. This weekend has been amazingly beautiful and I am sure there are other things that they would prefer to be doing, but they worked most of the day Saturday and Sunday...and into Sunday evening as you can see. The girls already LOVE it. Lots of squealing and giggling was heard today after we attached the slide.

Bright Sunshiny Day

When we were first paperchasing for Brady it was summer. I remember thinking that we would have to go through cold weather before warm weather would return and that would be when we would bring him home. It seemed like an eternity at that time. Today I packed away all of the girls' winter clothing. The girls even had on their swimsuits and played in the water today. Warm weather has returned and Brady will be home soon. God is good!

Beautiful Day!

Nothing like a day like today to life your spirits. It was absolutely beautiful and is supposed to stay this way for several days. I wanted so badly to get some cute shots of the girls outside before we went to meet Daddy at McDonald's (Allie's choice), but didn't really get any great ones. AnnaClaire's outfit was so cute and it is almost too little so I wanted a good pic of her but I didn't have time to get one (it takes a little work). Tomorrow Allie and Daddy are having a Daddy/Daughter day and I can't wait to hear how that goes. He is taking her to Bristol Motor Speedway to watch...well something. The race is this weekend and they are doing something there-no idea what. LOL We aren't race fans but the girls are big 'Cars' fans so we thought she would get a kick out of it.

One more thing...GO VOLS! Off to watch the game...

I am really fine, really;)

I had a few rough 'wait' days, but I am over that and back to normal (whatever that is). I just wish my friend Tonya would get her LOA. She is on day 91. I have been estimating that we would get our TA on day 114 (May 2) but I am afraid I may have been a little too optimistic. I might soon adjust to day 126. Oh well, it's not like I don't have plenty to do before Brady comes home (this is me looking at the brightside).

Also, the CCAA is cracking down on people sponsoring children that they plan to adopt so Brady is in need of a foster sponsor. He is listed as 'Ty' on the Love Without Boundaries site.

I think I have finally lost it. I need my boy home!

If you...

look up 'Rotten' in the dictionary, I am pretty sure that this is what you will find.

Birthday Party, Round 3

Just when the girls thought life couldn't get any better, Aunt Gina and Uncle Daniel showed up bearing gifts...and cookie cake! PARTY! They also brought super cool shirts for all the kids from their trip to the beach last week. Thanks guys!
